As India approaches the Lok Sabha elections in 2024, a recent poll conducted by India Today's Mood of the Nation suggests that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his party, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance, remain the preferred choice for voters. The survey projected that if elections were held today, the NDA would win 284 seats, while the Congress would win 191 seats. PM Modi has maintained a 52% approval rating, with other BJP contenders such as Amit Shah, Yogi Adityanath, and Nitin Gadkari also gaining support. Rahul Gandhi of the Congress received 14% support as a potential Prime Minister. Meanwhile, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal was favored as the person best suited to lead the opposition, followed by Mamata Banerjee and Rahul Gandhi. The survey also indicated that 67% of respondents were satisfied with the Modi government's performance, with COVID-19 management, the revocation of Article 370, and the construction of Ram Mandir cited as its biggest achievements. However, 8% believed that the government's handling of the pandemic was its biggest failure, while 25% cited price rise and 17% focused on unemployment. The poll had a sample size of 35,909 respondents from all Lok Sabha segments in India and drew on over 1 lakh interviews from C-voter's regular tracker data.
